Great Camera, Don’t Mount Too High
This is definitely a great camera for the money, with no subscription fees. It’s used with the Eufy Homebase 3 for AI tracking of people, cars, and animals.I noticed that, in the beginning, the camera wasn’t recording what I wanted it to. I figured out that when it does record, there’s a small area that asks if it was a person, or a vehicle, ect… As I confirmed these recordings to it, it got better and better at picking up people and vehicles in the coverage area.It also helps to set your coverage area with the camera. I live on a busy street. So I didn’t want the road or sidewalk recorded constantly. My coverage area starts maybe 5ft up my driveway and across the front lawn. This feature works great. Because the camera can see the road, but won’t record the traffic. One thing I want to be clear on… The camera doesn’t have sensors on its sides. Meaning, if there’s motion to the left or right, the camera will not pan over and start recording. Instead, the camera only records what it’s aimed at, and THEN can follow a moving target by panning left or right. It would be great if it had sensors on the sides, but it won’t know something is there if it’s not in its view. And you can set the camera’s default position if you want it aimed to the side. One other thing… I would NOT mount this camera higher than a 1st story gutter. The higher you mount it, the less range it has. Even though you can see a vast range through the camera feed, it cannot. Roughly, I’d say it has a range of 30 ft at 10ft up. The higher you go, the less distance the camera will cover on the ground. So keep expectations reasonable.Overall… Great camera. Definitely recommended if you want something placed centrally on your house.

I like the SoloCam S340 tracking and clarity.
I also have eufy Cam 2C, a solar panel, the doorbell, and the water freeze sensor set in the garage. I have the Homebase 2 to store the videos on. I love having the available onsite storage without paying a fee that increases over time faster than inflation. It has good clarity and decent night vision plus tracking. It has 1x & 3x viewing. It does have tilt and pan capabilities also. I do like that it comes with a solar panel to self-charge. I thought about ranking as a four as I wish I could choose which area to magnify as I would like to choose distance versus up close. My wife thinks it detracts from the street visual. That being said I do like the camera compared to some others I have had so boosting it to a five.

Great Peace of Mind!
First let me say if you have Spectrum internet, prepare for some issues with setup. For whatever reason, my Eufy cameras have had a lot of trouble connecting to Spectrum. The biggest solution I found was making sure the 2.4ghz Wi-Fi name and 5ghz WiFi names are DIFFERENT. When mine were the same name, only distinguishable by the 2.4G and 5G at the end of the name, this camera was constantly going offline or being extremely slow. As soon as I changed the 2.4G name, things got a lot better. That being said, I was very frustrated with the setup process and almost sent this camera back, but I’m glad I didn’t give up on it. I now have T-Mobile Home WiFi and the results are even better. Super fast setup, live streaming is flawless, and alerts are prompt.I really like the adjusts on this camera, and found it to be feature rich for the price point. I do not have the Homebase, but the built in AI tracking works well. The sound quality is pretty good, though it sounds slightly echoey, but this is likely due to the water resistance. It picks up clear conversations at a distance of about 25feet from what I have seen. The night vision has a color option which actually works or a black and white version which increases visibility distance slightly. As for battery life, I installed the solar panel on top of the camera and the placement location gets about 3-4 hours of sunlight each morning. This has kept the battery full since install.I have enjoyed this camera and is a huge improvement over my Simplisafe cameras.

Works Well When It Works but Is Inconsistent 🤔
The media could not be loaded.
This doesn’t work perfectly all the time. The recordings can start too late. The tracking sometimes doesn’t track and sometimes it says it’s offline even though my router says it’s connected. 🤔It’s a camera so let’s talk about picture quality. It’s good 👍 Good colors brightness white balancing it’s a clear picture even at night with a good iso setting giving you a clear low light image. It also has a spot light to further enhance the image quality at night. The IR night vision is also good giving you a clear B&W picture. 😉👍 However months later after an app update the low light performance has dropped. It’s not as bright anymore. They throttle performance. 🤐The zoom is clear up to the double zoom. If you go further in doing the two finger stretch the image is pretty blocky and pixelated and it won’t hold the tight zoom. It bounces back to the last zoom which is pretty clear in daylight and low light. The audio needs work.🦻 It’s not bad but it won’t pick up certain sounds clearly unless they’re close and the audio sometimes sounds choppy in a digital way. Talking and speaking to a person in a 10ft range is no problem. The alarm is good both in volume level and function.I mounted the camera under an awning for some weather protection. Didn’t want the camera to be in direct sunlight where the temperatures can soar during the summer or get soaked in the rain. The solar panel however must be mounted in direct sunlight. It is true the panel charges not being in direct sunlight but your rate of charge is much lower slower than consumption so it’s best to mount the solar panel in direct sunlight. At first the solar panel charged the camera fairly quickly as advertised only needing 2hrs. But as the weather changes during winter it’s struggling to charge to 100% but it’s also not 100% in direct sunlight anymore as the sun has shifted casting a bit of a shadow on the panel. 🫤The sensitivity levels were pretty good picking up people walking by a good 75ft plus away. It initially detected the difference between people and vehicles quite well but now struggles to track pick up people especially in low light. It’s a good camera but is Inconsistent and doesn’t perform reliably all the time. It misses events here n there and doesn’t always track smoothly or track at all.All these issues can be fixed quickly and I know fairly easily through an FW update. 🤓When I first got it set up it worked great recording fully the entire event from one side of the screen to the other. Why does it start midway now? 🤔 unknown. It’s a good camera with some quirks but good enough I would buy another. With the 360 pan tilt you only need 2 cameras to cover your whole house. This is a far better camera than Blink with no subscription fees no modules no memory sticks to buy and no need to buy replacement batteries every few months. It all adds up think about it. This is an all in one plug n play. App is pretty good too. You can catch rude disrespectful people who have no manners or etiquette thwart potential criminals casing your house and have video evidence for police and a court of law. I would buy this again and am replacing all my Blink cameras to Eufy. 🫵😎👍 Bye bye Blink 👋UPDATE: Purchased a 2nd one and placed this one out in the open with no protection. It performed great for a couple weeks then went completely dead. It will not charge via solar panel or plug in. It won’t do anything and the app says it’s offline verified by my router. What caused it to die being completely bricked? Being out in the open? The sun, cold weather? Unknown. It charged to 100% all the time usually from 90% or so. Just after I installed another Eufy cam this stopped working. Coincidence? IDK. The other that is under an awning still works fine. We’ll see what the replacement does and how long it lasts.UPDATE 2 and CONCLUSION: This camera has problems. I have purchased 3 of these and after a couple of months it no longer performs right. The 1st one I bought went completely dead. 2nd one no longer tracks or records anything at night. When using the custom setting and extending any time it doesn’t work. Using the optimal setting sometimes records sometimes doesn’t. 3rd one can’t pick up humans anymore. It picked them up great at first but now fails to pick anything up. It only picks up some vehicles not all. This camera does not last. It also seems like they are throttling performance. There’s no mechanical problems but seems the sensors and app are not working. Notifications are also late. Until they improve and fix the problems this is not worth buying because it quickly fails in a couple months. 😔 I want the brighter low light performance back.

Mostly works as described
The good first. The app and set up was excellent. The ability to detect motion at night is mediocre. The ability to detect at a distance I would consider poor. The spec say can detect up to 40 feet. I have not been able to get it to detect consistently past 25 or 30 feet. And if it’s dark out even less. For me that doesn’t even get to the end of my sidewalk leaving my front door. The camera also appears to be a little slow in responding when it does sense motion. It’s a good 30 seconds before I ever get an indication on my phone

I bought 4 different Eufy cameras here is my take
I purchased this S340 after buying S350 , E340, and Indoor cam pan & tilt. All of these cameras integrate into their app flawlessly. I can launch the app and see all the cameras in one place. Very useful. The software app also allows you to easily share any of the cameras with whoever you want easily. You can allow guest access or admin access. All of the cameras install and set up easily. They mount easily and come with necessary hardware. The pan and tilt action on the cameras is robust. The video doorbell has some issues with false notifications on packages but overall I like it and especially like that it’s charges off my standard doorbell transformer and also rings my standard doorbell chime. (Ring pro doorbell latest version was a disaster). I’m did like the very wide view of the Ring pro2 but it destroyed my chime and transformer that I had to upgrade and it required a subscription for any useful storage. Overall the Eufy works great and no subscription. I also like the Eufy doorbell motion activated light. The S340 solar panel and battery performance has been perfect. The battery stays close to or at 100% at all times even with multiple motion triggers daily. Even after several closure rainy days recently I have not had any issues. The motion tracking works really wellAs it does on the S350 I have indoors.Overall I’d recommend the Eufy cameras. They have all been easy to setup and use and are full featured with excellent video quality.

Make sure this gets full sun all day
I like this camera alot, but it’s not perfect. My minor complaint is the solar panel doesn’t charge the camera very much. I have this placed in a very sunny spot and it charges the battery about 7% each day. If there is a lot of activity, it will not get to 100%. This hasn’t been an issue for me as the battery is regularly in the 88-97% range. I am just surprised that this doesnt have the capability to charge faster. I probably would not reccomend this if you want to use this in a spot that is not getting full sun for most of the day.My biggest complaint is the record time. I have it set to record the maximum, which is up to 2 minutes of motion. However, the camera needs to have a longer buffer of continued recording while it does not detect motion. I have a big tree in my font yard. The camera will pickup a person walking toward my house, but stops recording when the person is blocked by the tree, thinking the person is gone. It DOES NOT start recording again once the person passes the tree. I want to be able to see that the person pass my house and track them until they are out of the camera range. It would be great if eufy would push out an update to accomodate that.

Good Price , easy-to-use , easy installation
Very Smooth Installation …I have 2 Floodlight Cams so Operation and Programming was second nature..The Only Confusion was that the Videos and Documentation gave the impression that the Batteries charge quickly…It does a good job of charging , but they do 10% to 15% on a Sunny day..It is Battery , so adjusted settings are there for Battery Savings..When All is said and done , it’s a Great Option in Remote spots..Easy Setup and Installation , Easy Programming , and lots of battery saving settings in the menu makes for a Great Purchase… Love it

Best Security Camera on the Market
i’ve tried multiple different manufacturers and found that the Eufy cameras are the best on the market. I love how you can pan tilt and zoom the camera to get an entire perspective of different angles around your home. The iOS mobile app is quite good and allows you to see all of your cameras as well as all of the triggers throughout the day. The new AI features, where it starts to recognize frequent visitors and how it takes a thumbnail picture of them when they approach a camera is also very awesome. I highly recommend this camera and love the fact that it is solar powered.

Great camera
Solar panel keeps it adequately charged and the video quality is very good. I’ve only had it for a few months. It will be interesting to see how it works during the winter when there is less sun and colder weather. The app’s dashboard has a solar dashboard that shows the charge level for that last 7 days. So far I haven’t seen it dip to below 70% even after a cloudy day. I am currently using the most aggressive settings from a power usage standpoint and it’s doing very well.

Great Cam For RV
This is the 3rd generation of solar cam I’ve had with Eufy. I’ve only ever charged any of them on the initial install and solar has done the rest. This camera comes with a ton of feature sets. Pan and tilt, preset positions, multiple lenses. Multiple options for day and night recording. AI tracking is optional. This camera is the snappiest in the app. You can tell it’s built on upgraded hardware.Pros:Multi lenses for zoom optionsPerpetual wireless powerRecords even when there isn’t internet connectionPan, tilt, zoomSimple to setup, deep deep customization availableCons:Wish it had the typical camera twist on like the other solar cams for the mount as I use my own mounts. It’s not a deal breaker, but I basically had to use a camera clamp to hook it up since all my cameras use general camera clamps.

Up and running in 5 minutes.
Having four other Eufy cameras I was able to get this voyeur up and running in about 5 minutes after unboxing and charging. Really user friendly and simple. The one issue I am having is since the internal storage cannot be expanded (no micro sd slot) I opted to sign Jo for the cloud storage – only problem is all my other cameras are available to add to the cloud but this one isn’t showing up on the list. If this issue isn’t rectified in the next 24-48 hours I will reach out to Eufy and update my review accordingly. I had a great experience with my last Eufy solar camera and I expect even better efficiency from this one! I’m a big Eufy fan and solely buy their cameras so I don’t have a bunch of different apps. With Eufy I can access all my cameras in one place and I can invite others to be able to access them and set permissions. I got this on Prime Day when it was generously marked down although the retail price isn’t outrageous considering this camera’s capabilities.I hope this helps someone make an informed decision.

Great BUT MOUNT HIGH
I like the fact that this product can self sustain itself with solar recharging and is wirelessYou can set this thing up anywhere within sunlight and in range of your wireless connection and you’re good to goWorks best with the base station for recordings and staying off the cloudThe one issue I have is the pan tilt doesn’t translate UP very much so you have to mount this unit high or have a slight upwards angle.Maybe the manufacturer was worried about the standard position of the solar panel interfering with operation

Does what it’s designed to do
The media could not be loaded.
Here’s a video of a prowler we caught on camera today. He was standing under the camera, which alarmed due to motion (we think he was smoking under the camera) and I manually adjusted the camera and used the video function to capture him here. This was 5:20am and still dark out. We have used this system for a few months now and are pleased with the results, although we do get a fair number of false positives.

Has flaws
I like this camera for the most part, but the battery doesn’t last long at all, and then when it does die, it just stays off even after it charges back up from solar. So then I have to get out my ladder and all to turn it back on. It needs to have a mode to automatically turn it back on after it regains power.

This is a serious upgrade from our previous Arlo system. It’s AI is superior – being able to identify us, our pets, swaying trees – and not film what we tell it to ignore. High quality video and the tracking is awesome! Great performance for the money!

Great camera but..
This thing is well built, easy to install and the phone interface works like a champ. However, for some reason this thing won’t record any non-human activity on my porch. I have been through the settings several times, checked the manual and spent hours on YouTube with no joy.

Very good image quality.
I like this camera for the image quality, solar battery charging system, and the AI tracking feature. I have had some issues in detecting motion accurately and consistently, and had worked with tech support, which is good, bit still haven’t been able to get it down yet to detecting all modes of motion. Has a great 3X zoom feature that makes image really clear, even at night. The PTZ works great, however, due to its limits, I have tilted my camera upward more so I could observe the skyline better.

Solar charges in DIRECT sunlight.
If you are going to use solar as power put in an area where it will get direct sunlight. I thought it did not need full direct sunlight, it does! Also if the solar panel is not working check your connections. Mine was “not working” until I unplugged and refastened

No subscription, no charging
I love this security camera. I used to have Arlo until they increased their subscription cost to $7.99 a month for one camera! But with Eufy, there’s no subscription cost and no need to charge it. It’s solar powered. It rotates 360 degrees. I can hear what’s going on outside and speak through the camera. It has excellent night vision. I can see the events that happened through the app. Overall, great camera. Rare to have things without subscriptions these days.

Impressed with functionality/solar power and battery life vs comparable Ring.
This was my first Eufy after many Ring Cams. I mounted this in an outdoor spot next to a wireless Ring Pro with solar. Both on wifi w/o hubs/chime. The Ring batteries – on minimal settings – continue to drain quickly despite solar while the Eufy stays charged. The Eufy motion detection is superior, in particular the ability to track vehicles along a driveway. The Eufy app is pretty straightforward, but one does need to go through it carefully to make sure you get the functions you want.

Camera fine – charging good with new camera
The camera works great. I like the AI that will focus on whatever is selected. I have it focused on my porch and there is a flag often blowing in the breeze. It would trigger any other motion detection camera but this one only gets the mailman or the Amazon delivery person. My first one had a bad battery. I posted a negative review and the company reached out and replaced the camera. All is working well now.

Great security camera for corners
Installation for both the camera and solar panel was very easy. Programming it was also straightforward. I like how the camera can track motion. I installed it on the corner of my house and can view 270 degrees. So far, the solar panel powers the camera just fine – the camera stays at or near 100%. The picture quality at night is also very good. The best part is there is no monthly fees. I would recommend adding a cover to protect the camera from UV and rain. I’m thinking about getting another camera for my backyard. Very pleased with the quality.

REALLY GREAT SECURITY CAMERA SYSTEM!
This is one of my EASIEST 5-star reviews. This is a GREAT product, and no I don’t own stock in Eufy.I wanted to replace my old DVR-based wired system with a more modern system of wireless video cams. I looked at other brands, and based on the YouTube vid’s I watched, the Eufy S340 seemed to do it all. So, I bought the starter pack (2 cams and a Homebase) to try out, and it did everything that Eufy claimed, and more. On that basis I bought 5 more cameras and have not been disappointed. I’m not going to rehash all of the S340’s features. I suggest that you watch any of the YouTube videos about this product. I will only list the features that wildly exceeded my expectations, along with some installation tips:1. Customer Service. One of my 7 cams worked perfectly except that the battery wouldn’t fully charge to 100%. It only charged up to 44%, but that was still more than enough power for it to function perfectly. But I wasn’t happy with what was likely a battery that had been on a warehouse shelf a bit too long, so I called Eufy product support. *Before* I was off the phone with them, they had a replacement on its way to me, without first having confirmed that I had shipped the old one back. THAT is what I call exceptional CSX.2. Installation wizard. The installation process is via an automated wizard that’s activated by your mobile phone’s Eufy app, and it’s terrific. It walks you thru every step of the installation, and I’ve never had a problem installing a cam. It’s a brilliantly designed piece of software that even takes you thru updating the camera firmware to the latest version.3. Solar panel mounting tips. On my eaves, my concrete roof tiles extend over the edge of the fascia board by a couple of inches. This can make it difficult to install the camera with the solar panel attached directly to the top of the cam. Also, some locations don’t get enough direct sunlight. So, I mounted the solar panels in some locations 5 or 6 feet away from the camera and I used these really great stand-offs for the solar panels:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BKGCFNTD?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsThese are great, too, but don’t provide as much of a stand-off distance:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08RNHSMCL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1I used both of these in various locations, depending on how much stand-off distance I needed. They are great products. When you install the solar panel in a different location than the camera, you’ll be using the provided extension cable that’s about 10 feet long. I wanted to keep this installation neat and professional looking, so I used these cable clips to fasten the cable to the inside of the eaves fascia board:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08RMNPCYN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=14. Eufy app. The downloadable app is amazingly complete. It has more panels and info on it than I’ve seen in other more sophisticated products (like my Generac standby generator). You can setup camera sensitivity, AI tracking, sound, video quality, and on and on. I have one camera focused on my fishpond and I’ve set it to a slightly higher sensitivity than the other cams, and I’ve told it to recognize animals. It almost always records a huge great horned owl in the middle of the night when I’m sleeping, and it’s going for a drink of water. I’ve also set that same camera to trigger the built-in siren and strobe light if it sees anything that’s coyote-sized trying to catch my goldfish or koi.5. Panning and close-ups. You can pan the cameras while you’re viewing them remotely, and you can do a closeup using a finger drag on your screen, or you can switch to the 3x lens for an even more detailed close-up. All of these features work flawlessly and in real time. What a great thing to have when you’re on vacation!6. Serious security. I’ve used the configurable “Automation” capability to “knit” my cameras together into an automated system that will set off alarms under circumstances that I’ve defined. For instance, I’ve set my system to behave normally from 6a to midnight. During that time, if any camera detects movement (definable by camera), the system records the event and stores it. BUT AFTER MIDNIGHT and before 6a, if it detects humans or cars on my driveway, all hell breaks loose. That means that those triggered cameras flash a strobe, sound a siren, and send me an alert that wakes me up. In such a case, I could bring that camera up on the screen, and I could turn off the siren and yell at the unwanted visitor(s) through the built-in loudspeaker.7. Camera wireless range. I noticed that it took a while to access my farthest cameras using the Eufy app. They were attached in a location on the eaves outside my garage doors. I simply installed an additional eero Wi-Fi Extender in the garage, and that solved the problem. I already had an eero router and other eero extenders in order to provide better performance for my other network devices around my large-ish house, so I just needed an additional extender.—————————————————————There’s really nothing about these cameras or the system software that I don’t like. I can’t address reliability because I’ve only had them in for a few months now, but so far, so good. I can’t recommend this system highly enough.BTW, all my cams are connected to my Eufy Homebase S380, which is a separate product, and which you should buy with your first camera purchase. It’s $149 by itself, but Eufy has a pkg that includes two cams and a Homebase for a substantial discount. Here’s the link:https://www.amazon.com/eufy-Security-HomeBase-Surveillance-Compatible/dp/B0CMZ9KZN3/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3JWL8NKQOPU5M&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.zSPwp8NHBviZ2jQKmGizvrKQYYyc7-jFS5m8-vCxzLMO8rwSPUEXQi5D9d16LltS-hnIjt5EWJ0MqeVzGP2Uda7NIgxb5jJ3GvxgqKiFKo4XdHAmEqKRmCIHomwGGT-HoagY3dfvlEU_GxbXxSfahy5GW1YH85oYtlhptnVkqJBXlQpZ3i0X0x7pkRaw4UtmATllAQ3-T79ipFKhqveagq5SuOAl9zCi5Ox-TLPvnfY.Oz6nsX3a9O6kiBjlGv2Qs6S4mm2NXxIM9bCG2f9PHCQ&dib_tag=se&keywords=s340&qid=1723432884&sprefix=s340%2Caps%2C175&sr=8-5In the pictures that I attached, the first one shows a short stand-off. I needed to use it because the camera is actually mounted under an awning in the shade, and there was more than enough room for a short stand-off. The second picture shows a long stand-off. I needed to use a longer one in order to clear the roof tiles and to get a good view of the sun.

Great motion sensing camera with solar!
I purchased this to add to my Eufy home security system. This camera is mounted over my garage, to monitor the 40 ft driveway to my house. It is connected to a HomeBase3, along with 2 indoor cameras, 4 water leak detectors, and 1 motion sensor. I plan to add 2 additional exterior cameras in the coming months. As with all of the devices in the Eufy line, this camera was a breeze to setup, mount, configure, and to add to an existing security routine. It was up within 1 hour and works flawlessly. The dual lens design makes zooming quick with great resolution. The motion tracking works perfectly. The solar charging is awesome, and allows placement without the need for access to AC — just make sure that it gets about 2 hours of direct sunlight every day. I purchased a rain hood for this, as it will get hammered with sun and weather due to it’s position on the house. As I feel with all of the Eufy security devices that I’ve purchased, this camera works exactly the way it should — which is very diffrerent than other brands that I’ve tried. Although not cheap, in this case you get what you pay for.

Only one day so far
Nice camera, nice system for the price. There’s a little tinkering to get it up and running, mostly getting the app to recognize your particular camera. But that’s pretty easy. Also easy to put up even though the directions are comic book, as many Asian directions are. It says to fully charge for 8 hours, first – be aware that it is a “C” connection, supplied- what most call Android, and a cell phone charger, not supplied. I guess you could plug the solar into it for a couple of days.Yes, it shows people and cars going by in front of the house. I guess I can change that in the app, eventually. I just turned everything “ON” to start. The app seems pretty nice. Certainly the system so far is glitch-free. I am very happy with it, so far.

Camera works as designed
This camera works very well. I have read the negative reviews complaining about how the recording starts late. Per the instructions, the camera has a time delay before recording. Because it is battery power only, the battery would run down quickly if it were recording every movement from the very beginning. The built in time delay is set in order to record each event, but with a specific delay at the beginning. If you want a camera that records every movement from its beginning this camera is not for you. It must strike a balance between recording and battery use. A wired camera with AC power would be needed if one wants to record every event from the very beginning of movement. Another negative review complains that the camera sometimes does not record an event at all. I would advise resetting the camera at a different location or adjust the settings to better trigger the PIR. Per the instructions, “objects coming directly toward the center of the camera may not be detected. The position of the camera must be set up, positioned so that movement goes across the lens’s field of view, triggering the PIR motion detection.” This camera has great night-vision recording and excellent color resolution. Over all, at this price point, this camera provides the security I was looking for. I did not want to spend the extra having an electrician run wires front and rear of my home, then have to purchase a wired camera system that was at a greater price point. As I work with this camera, I like the fact that if it is not working as I expect mounted in one point, I can easily change the cameras location. This camera works as it is designed.

Good for a wireless camera
Bought this camera after weeks of research and concluding that no wireless camera will truly reach the performance of a wired one, but this one comes a little close. It’s been up for over a month now, and has not shown any sign of defection after we’ve had pouring rain for weeks. The visibility at night is INCREDIBLE! The picture quality in general is beautiful, clear as day in day time. Its performance is flawless during the day, with no delays of alarms and sensors. Sound quality is also surprisingly really stable, can catch my neighbors conversation in his car. Motion detection was really important for us because we want to keep thieves away from our driveway, and it is more than sufficient *again for a wireless camera*. A lot of reviews complain about this, but fail to understand that these kind of cameras can only detect so much. The motion detection can be too sensitive, which may be good thing if you really want that extra security at night. You can also adjust its sensitivity and notifications in the app, so that’s that. The notifications are timely, sometimes with a delay of a few seconds but nothing outrageous to the point where you could miss something crucial. Not to mention how EASY this was to set up!!!! Very straightforward connection to the app, and the app itself is very user friendly. Oh and the battery is holding up pretty well! Definitely love the solar panel option. Seriously worth the money if your only option is a wireless camera/you don’t want to go through the hassle of a wired one. No ridiculous monthly fee, very user friendly and feeling a lot less anxious at night.

Best camera ever
I had someone install 15 cameras at my house and the work great and it really cost me a few thousand, I accidentally had the tv on either qvc or hsn and I ordered 2 from amazon and when I got them hooked them up and boom ,very easy to install and the pictures are awesome ,the pan tilt if great. I ended up ordering a few more and I’m even spreading the word with my neighbors. The night and day pictures are very clear the sound is very clear and it’s wireless with plenty of rain and it’s still perfect.

My personal review of this product
I would like to start off by saying I bought this product a little over 3 1/2 months ago. I had no issues with shipping had no issues with missing parts. Everything came as should. The install was super easy and simple. The application was easy and simple to understand about five maybe 10 minutes and I understood the app. The Camera quality as in video is really good. The actual product itself seems well-made doesn’t seem cheap. My issues with this camera is that there is a lag or delay from the app to the camera itself, and it sometimes doesn’t work and you have to try to retry connection when I’m leisurely trying to look at the camera. It’s fine, but there has been a couple of times that I want to look at the camera in a hurry but then I run into the connection problems. I’ll try restart the app. I reset my Internet and I still have the issues. It’s very frustrating. I’ve honestly came to the point where I might just take it down and get rid of the product. My other gripe is that you can’t have the camera on a oscillating program What I mean by this is, I would like for the camera to start at one point and in at another point let’s say maybe on a timeframe every five minutes or something like that or every three minutes it does a full sweep from left or right. But sadly, it doesn’t have this future, and the only time that it becomes active is when something is moving in front of it or and it zoned that it’s in. My other issue is, I wish I could talk to someone through the camera from the app while still hearing them, Instead, you have to hold the button down from the app talk to them and then let go of it in order to hear what they say to you. I guess it’s just a small inconvenience. It would be nice if it was a little bit more streamline. I guess I’m getting to the end of my review. If I was asked if I would purchase this item again, I would say maybe since now that I know what I know now I would only buy it if it was cheaper given the inconveniences that it has caused me, I hope this review has helped anyone that is on the fence

I really wanted it to work…alas
I ordered this camera because the specs and uses seemed too good to be true. In my case, it was.I have a HomeBase 3 hub and eufy 3c cameras already set up. They’ve worked flawlessly. So the S340, with its ability to zoom and pan and use solar power seemed perfect. Plus, I saved about $40 on the Prime Day sale.Except after getting it, the limitations quickly became apparent. In the name of full disclosure, I knew that given my north-facing home and distances involved, it would be challenging to get it done. But I sooo wanted this work.I had two locations in mind. Location 1 has one of the existing 3c cameras. It captures cars driving up with nice crisp video. To use the S340, I would have had to run the solar panel extension cord around the side of the structure. The building is stained dark brown; the cord is very white. Ok. I would have painted it to match the building. But in testing it, S340 response wasn’t as crisp as the installed eufyCam 3C. When it worked, it did trigger quickly, but it certainly didn’t extend the trigger range further down the driveway.Location 2 was to be aimed at a swimming pool. But because of the HomeBase distance restriction, I couldn’t get it close enough to trigger movement. I could have tired using via wifi only, but the wifi signal would also have been stretched to its limit and reviews here speak of latency issues.Another frustration was positioning and testing the camera. There is no way to adjust the bracket once screwed in, unlike the adjustable bracket for the EufyCam 3c.Fine tuning camera placement is all but impossible — you can’t rest the camera on a flat surface (like the tray of a stepladder) because the lens housing is round and at the bottom. In location 2, I jerry-rigged a carpenters clamp to hold the camera in place…only to discover it would not trigger even at 30′.If Eufy markets at HomeBase extender, I may give it another try.

Great Full Featured Device… Still Dodgy Wi-Fi
Very clear video. Can see Zoomed in and distance views all at once. NO MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION. Solar Panel works great. I’d give this 5 stars but like all Wi-Fi based cameras it will be a bit laggy and occasionally drop from Wi-Fi. Before you say it – YES I have upgraded my network to a mesh network and my speedtests of all devices confirm WAY more than enough bandwidth to get the job done. The device sits 8 feet from one module (clear line of site) and 15 or so from a second module. It is less laggy than the Ring devices I also have on the network but still can be as slow as a count of 3 before movement registers. This has more to do with the state of Wi-Fi in general than any particular camera device. It is as good as the state of the Wi-Fi art but Wi-Fi art is kind of like drawing the Internet with crayons.

Working great!
I really didn’t want to run the wire for this. It’s positioned above a door facing north. The solar plate is faced due east hoping to catch a bit of morning sun over the tall trees in the morning. It isn’t much in the way of direct sun but the unit is staying charged just fine and working as planned. It does a great job of identifying people and vehicles in the chosen path. Very happy with my decision for this unit!

Got to be the best security camera that I ever purchased
This Eufy security Solocam with the solar is really that good. If you mount on the gutter, you will need to purchase the mount separately. It really does charge back up to 100% with the solar panel and the tracking feature really syncs with whom is walking or driving by. It really 2 of the other stand still cameras from another brand. The app is very easy to setup and use also.Highly recommended, thumbs up.

Easiest to install and use outdoor camera
I’ve installed three different types of outdoor solar cameras and this was the easiest to set up and install. Can be mounted under a ‘ceiling’ or aside a wall. The detachable solar panel can be moved to ensure it captures the sun. Having other Eufy cameras, this one seamlessly joined my phone and appeared on my other devices. Took a bit to fine tune the notifications and sounds as they do not match the online tutorial.

Works as advertised; rain cover install note
I’ve been around security cameras for 20 years, and this one has some excellent selling points. Camera auto following motion detection is one. No need for monthly subscriptions is another. One install note: I bought the rain/sun shade, it comes with slightly longer screws. They are slightly wider as well, making it a tough fit to push out the bottom of the solar attachment bracket. Be diligent, push them in with a narrow Phillips screwdriver, and they will fit through.

Frequent notifications
Image is great, including the night sight. Live feed capability is great and no subscriptions! My only complaint is just how many notifications I get from the camera which is more a software issue than the camera itself. I couldn’t find any way in the UI to allow a delay between notifications so if you plan to work in the target area plan on getting dozens upon dozens of notifications.

Great Customer Service
So I have to give a shout out to this company. These cameras are not cheap. Coming in at $200 a piece they are definitely an investment. However, I am overall satisfied with the purchase. Eufy went on sale almost $50 5 days after I purchased this camera. So I reached out to the company and asked if they could honor the sale and they did! They stated they were happy to honor the sale price.Pros:Camera operates of WiFi and does not have to be hooked up to a home base (this is how we are using it). The camera is located on the opposite end of the house from my 4G LTE Home Internet, and it connected and stays connected wonderfully. The camera does not have cellular data so if your wifi is out than the camera is offline. Solar power works great and even though it is not in full sun all day it has had no trouble staying charged. I currently have the camera set to surveillance mode which records longer videos but does not go off to every motion (bugs, leaves, animals etc) So far detection has been very good, and sensitivity is customizable in the app. Setup and the app were very user friendly, and I was able to set up and install on my own without my husband’s help. Night vision is very clear and audio/two way communication works great just be patient and expect a delay when talking.Cons: So far the only fault is inconsistency with detection. Note that I have the sensitivity only set to 4 so this could be our fault. We have a road directly in front of the house so if I raise the sensitivity, it will be triggered with every passing car. I wish the app had the option to ignore certain people. For example, when I am doing yard work, I will get 30 notifications from every time I walked by the camera. You do have the option to disable to camera however it would be my luck something would happen while I have it turned off. But honestly that’s me being nitpicky and a minor inconvenience.

Works well, can be a bit of a pain to adjust
For the most part, I’m happy with this camera. Being able to pan and tilt and the included solar panel were the primary reasons for buying. Unfortunately, the way to pan and tilt the camera is wonky in the interface with a number of failed to request (-1) errors which randomly shows up (doesn’t seem to affect streaming video or recording, just panning the camera).

It’s great
It’s been great so far. Got it on prime day sale and its an amazing piece of electronic. The detection is great, it follows the motion also well and the solar panel has kept bettery at 100% so far. I generally see battery going down to 96-97% with significant usage in a day but it gets charged back to 100% with solar next morning. It’s still summer so will have to see how it behaves in winters but my guess is 2-3 hours of sunlight is good enough in a day to keep it at full battery, at least till the time solar panel doesn’t deteriorate

my 3rd eufy cam and its the best one so far
Honestly got this cause I already had eufy cam/ home base. Others weren’t that good for recognition, but this is wayyyy more accurate at picking up cars, people, etc. Possibly due to the tilt rotation function, but so glad I swapped it out for my front house cam. Downside? is the amount of battery drain. Trying to figure that out and trying to place the solar panel where it will receive the most power throughout the day.
