Lenovo Legion Go Review: A Handheld PC Gamer’s Dream (Almost)
Hey everyone! I’ve been lucky enough to get my hands on the Lenovo Legion Go, and let me tell you, it’s a wild ride. This handheld gaming PC is trying to do something pretty ambitious: bring the full PC gaming experience to the palm of your hand. So, does it deliver? Let’s dive in!
What’s Awesome About the Legion Go
- That Gorgeous Screen: The 8.8″ QHD+ display is a stunner. Colors pop, games look sharp, and the 144Hz refresh rate makes everything buttery smooth. It’s honestly one of the best screens I’ve seen on a handheld device.
- Surprisingly Powerful: The Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor and 16GB of RAM mean this thing can handle most modern games with ease. I was playing demanding titles like “Cyberpunk 2077” and “Red Dead Redemption 2” at decent settings, and it held up admirably.
- Controllers That Don’t Quit: The detachable controllers are a game-changer (pun intended). They’re comfortable, responsive, and have all the buttons and triggers you need. Plus, they feel like a proper console controller, not some flimsy add-on.
- Tons of Storage: The 1TB SSD gives you plenty of space for your game library. No more agonizing over what to delete to make room for a new install.
- Windows 11 On the Go: Having full-fledged Windows 11 means you can do more than just game. You can browse the web, watch videos, or even do some work if you’re feeling productive.
Where the Legion Go Could Improve
- Battery Life Could Be Better: This is the biggest downside. Don’t expect to game for more than a couple of hours on a single charge, especially with demanding titles. Keep that charger handy.
